American Muslim Munsif Mohammed SALVI
President Trump announced at a news briefing at the White House that “the chief scientist of Operation Warp Speed will be Dr. Munsif Mohamed Slavi, a world-renowned immunologist who has helped develop 14 new vaccines.“
“These are a lot of new vaccines for us in the 10 years of his time in the private sector,” he said.
President Trump called the Moroccan American immunologist “one of the most respected people in the world for vaccine development.”
Dr. Munsif Mohamed Slavi was born in 1959 in Agadir, Morocco. He was the head of the vaccine department at the well-known pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline and worked for the company for 30 years.

After graduating from Casa Blanca’s Mohammed V Fifth High School, Dr. Munsif Mohamed Slavi studied biology in Belgium and completed a postgraduate course from Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine.
He has published more than 100 scientific papers and is a member of the Board of Directors of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative.
Introducing the program at the White House briefing, Dr. Munsif Mohammad Slavi said, “I have recently seen preliminary data from a clinical trial of a coronavirus vaccine.”
“This data gives me more confidence that we will have millions of vaccines by the end of 2020,” he said.
