Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday said that Indian troops would always receive “appropriate response” to ceasefire violations along the Line of Control, and called their actions “threat to regional peace and stability.”
According to a statement from the army’s media wing, the COAS made the remarks while visiting troops along the LOC.
“The blatant atrocities of the Indian occupying forces on innocent Kashmiris and the immoral targeting of the civilian population in Azad Jammu and Kashmir are unacceptable. During his visit, he was briefed on the latest developments, repeated ceasefire violations by Indian troops, and the response of the Pakistan Army.
The statement further said, “The COS commended the officers and men for their constant supervision and professionalism.“
A woman lost her life and a minor girl was injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir after unprovoked firing by Indian troops across the LoC on Monday, civilian and military officials said.
