In Punjab and Islamabad, the price of CNG will be reduced by Rs 12.5 per kg from 12 noon tonight. Thus, from May 1, the price of CNG in Punjab and Islamabad will be Rs 72 per kg.
On the other hand, the federal government has announced a reduction in the prices of all petroleum products and an increase in the price of LPG from May 1. OGRA has increased the price of gas across the country from Rs 90 per kg to Rs 112. According to another notification, the prices of petroleum products will be reduced by Rs 30 per liter from tomorrow.
New Prices of Petrol, Diesel & CNG
The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 15 per liter, high-speed diesel by Rs 27 per liter, light-speed diesel by Rs 15 per liter and kerosene by Rs 30 per liter. The new price of petrol has gone up to Rs 81.58 per liter. The price of CNG in Punjab and Islamabad will be Rs 72 per kg.
The price of high-speed diesel has come down by Rs 27.15 paise to Rs 80.10 per liter and kerosene by Rs 30 to Rs 47 per liter. Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had recommended a reduction in the prices of petroleum products by Rs 44.7 per liter. OGRA had proposed levy of Rs 24.20 per liter on high-speed diesel, Rs 18-90 per liter on petrol, Rs 6 per liter on kerosene, and Rs 3 per liter on light diesel.
OGRA had proposed a reduction in the price of light diesel by Rs 24.57 per liter, kerosene by Rs 44.7 per liter, and high-speed diesel by Rs 33.94 per liter. However, after consultation, the government issued a notification of a reduction in prices of petroleum products after minor changes in OGRA’s summary. It has been reported that due to the historic decline in global oil prices, the government has decided to reduce petrol and diesel prices.
